Hello,

I am reposting this topic here, as it was not originally placed in the correct forum.

This male Ceratopogonidae was observed during a night survey using a mercury vapour lamp. Do you think it could be Culicoides pulicaris, as we suspect?

It's Culicoides or tribe Ceratopogonini. I don't know the European wing patterns.

Thank you very much, John, for your reply.

I will leave it as Culicoides / Ceratopogonini for now, as it seems safer not to go further without specialist knowledge of the European wing patterns.

Best regards,

JC
