Hello, this 10 mm Calliphoridae male visited Eupatorium cannabinum flowers in our courtyard last year (northwest Germany). Because of the greenish shine I think of Bellardia, but I am not sure. It seems to have an orange "beard" like Calliphora vomitoria. Calypter is white, so not vomitoria. Antenna is lomg, so no Bellardia. Onesia ? Theo |

Thank you, Theo! The one below (from 01.08.2018) was identified for me by JohnEs82 as Onesia austriaca. It also seems to have a yellow beard! Given general distribution, I’d say Onesia cf. sepuchralis. Interesting, by the way, Onesia is never recorded in the Netherlands. We must be on the lookout ! Theo |
