Hi, I have photographed this fly a fortnight ago in a deciduous forest near Paris. I suppose from the general outlook (and also because they are very common in this season) that this is a Mycetophilid fly. Correct? Is it possible to go to the genus? Length about 6-8mm. Thanks for any help. Cheers, FRV FRV attached the following image: [162.75Kb] |

Tricky without any of the wing venation visible but it does not look like Mycetophilinae.

Thank you Paul. So no way of going further than Mycetophilidae! |
