Hello, I photographed these flies on Pizzo Camarda (AQ), Italy, 2300m a.s.l. on June 20th 2020. I think they are Cylindromyia, but is it possible to identify the species from these photos? The last picture is sublime. You can see the basal scutellar bristles, short third antennal segment and most impotantly: some string bristlelike hairs at hind margin on ventral side ot syntergite 1&2. Hence, male C. brevicornis. Please submit this last pic to the gallery Theo |
