Hello, I found this fly with a red spot on frons sitting head-down on a big mushroom (Coprinus comatus). It flew away and disappeared after the first picture. One and half an hour later I went back, found a fly on the same mushroom and took some more pictures. It was exactly the same fly, as can be seen by comparing the small injuries of wings. Mycophaga has plumose arista. Arista seems to me bare.

Thank you for answer, Nikita. I looked again for all pictures, but could also not see any hint for a plumose arista. Unfortunately, I do not have photos with better resolution. Is it a Pegomya or are there further similar looking candidates attracted by Coprinus comatus? Best wishes, Marion |
