Hello,

the small fly I noticed only when looking at the photo on my PC. Is this the infamous ladybird parasitoid Phalacrotophora fasciata? Here on a larva of Harmonia axyridis in the low vegetation next to a forest path (northwest Germany).

Phalacrotophora OK, but I doubt you'll get species from this photo.

Thanks, Tony! I had hoped a little bit, it would be unique with this colouration...
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
