Hello,
Has somebody an idea about this little Chloropidae with a bicoloured scutellum I met in my garden in the town of Lille ? I think it is different from the genus Thaumatomyia I am used to meet in this place.
Thank you in advance,
Dominique

Thank you, Paul, for your answer. I did not know this genus but it seems to be very good for the global appearance. Unfortunately my photo is not good enough to possibly see the orange line on the middle of the black stripe...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
