Can anyone confirm or correct, please? From pasture at Moelyci Farm, Tregarth, North Wales, 30 June 2020. Using the figures in Van Emden's RES Handbook I thought subvicina, but from the photos in the new online key, Whitmore et al., I reckon carnaria. They do advise not to identify just by matching the genitalia photos, which is what I did. But then the part of the key for these species only refers to genitalia.

Thanks
John

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
