Hello.
On LMDI, we think it's similar to Hydrophorus bipunctatus, but we're intrigued by the hairiness on the ventral surface of femur 1...
Do you have an opinion?
Male or female?
Thank you.

Bonjour.
Merci.

In North America Hydrophorus is usually found on or close to water while Scellus prefers drier habitats.

My garden is in the Marais Poitevin which by definition is wet but it is on an old island with a limestone soil and a bit of sand.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
