Hello, dear experts, this Rhagoletis sp. was found in our backyard in Hannover, Germany under a cherry tree, and in a 2 m distance to a mahonie or berberis on May 8. Is it possible to identify it? Many thanks in advance, Hans Haleun attached the following image: [216.15Kb] Edited by Haleun on 12-05-2020 17:23 |

It looks to be a freshly emerged Kirschfliege Rhagoletis cerasi L. with a soft and incompletely pigmented thorax, abdomen and wings. Rhagoletis berberidis Jermy has shining mesonotum and other minor differences. Edited by Nosferatumyia on 12-05-2020 12:54 Val |
