Hi, This Empis female is busy with drinking nectar in a Ranunculus flower on May 22nd, 2019. Though the length of the proboscis cannot be estimated, I think of E. pennipes, because middle and hind legs are very feathery, and even the front legs bear long hairs. Is there any other Empis with such an appearance? The location is southwestern Germany, about 20 km west of Stuttgart.
