Hi, I found this strange diptera on april 24th, 2020 on the wall of my balcony near Bologna, Italy. I really do not know to which family it might belong, can you help me? Thanks in advance. Franziska mammut attached the following image: [118.65Kb] Edited by mammut on 30-04-2020 17:55 |

Hello, Tachypeza nubila (Hybotidae). They are very frequent on walls and trees here in Germany at the moment, too. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Thanks a lot Juergen for your prompt answer I just noted that Fauna Europea cites for Italy another very similar species T. subnubila - apparently T. nubila officially does not occur in Italy. So I guess it might be that species. Do you agree? Best regards Franziska Edited by mammut on 29-04-2020 15:31 |
