Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is a Diptera, found at the edge of a small pond near frog spawn. Germany, lower Bavaria, 9th April 2019. The larva of the horsefly Heptatoma pellucens. Very characteristic dorsal hairpatches giving it a brownish appearance |

By the way, definitely aquatic and it seems to prefer organically enriched stagnant water bodies |

Thank you I didn't expect a species ID! Indeed the pond where I found it is organically enriched and stagnant
