Scatopsidae NL->Reichertella nigra

These Scatopsidae were found in Hank, the Netherlands in May. Should be Anapausis, I guess. Any idea what species?

These are Reichertella, most probably nigra. Vicinous species Reichertella pulicaria is very similar. Check the wing venation on specimens (as unfortunately not well visible on your picture): if the stem of fork M1M2 (the veins immediately below the anterior well-marked veins) is shorter than half length of the fork itself, then it is R. nigra, if longer then it would be R. pulicaria. |
