Could someone please help me with the name of the (sub)family of this fly from Suriname? I have no additional photos. Found in savannah forest.

Thanks in advance, Auke

Thanks. Syneches yields (only?) species with pale tibiae in Google, but that may be just a photo bias. Filing now as cf. Syneches.

Jewell699, you should post it in the forum, not submit it for the gallery.

If you experienced a very sluggish site recently, it may have been because someone tried to upload a maliciuous script by force. It appears to have failed. The visitor was blocked further access.
