Found at La Selva Biological Station 16 Aug 2018. Female Pilica sp.? Unfortunately, this one was pretty wary and I didn't get a clear shot of proboscis or wings.

Andrenosoma (s.l.) cinereum, female. Pattern detail of silver tomentose bands on thorax & abdomen confirms ID of this widespread Andrenosomatini sp. (Mexico to Brazil). [Proboscis straight (lateral view), tapers to rounded tip (dors.-vent.)] Cheers, Eric. Edited by Eric Fisher on 22-04-2019 21:42 |
