Hi * locality - Manta Rota beach - near Monte Gordo - ALGARVE - PORTUGAL * date - 2007.09.29 * size - 7 mm (medium fly) * habitat - beach * substrate - on seaweed. I thought in Coelopidae, but there are features that are off. The same for Heterocheilidae. So, Dolichopodidae?? Which one? I'm curious about this one.EDIT---> Title changed from "Seaweed fly." to "Anthomyiidae - Fucellia cf. tergina" jorgemotalmeida attached the following image: ![]() [191.35Kb] Edited by jorgemotalmeida on 03-10-2007 18:17 |

Hi Jorge, I think it is Anthomyiidae, probably one of the abundant Fucellia swarming on seaweeds ? Stephane. |

that was my fear! grrr... these Anthomyiidae. During this afternoon I was thinking about this fly (yeah... crazy) and I had an idea that could be Anthomyiidae. Yes, we could see a swarm. ![]() |
