The pictures are not the best, but the tips of the femora 1 seem to be red, the facial gibbosity is small, and the tip of the genital is bent downwards - so it might be just the female depicted on the title of Reinoud's key https://waarnemin...ilidae.pdf Smile That is, Paritamus (or Neomochtherus) geniculatus.

:-) Although the facial gibbosity is not very big, to me this appears to be a Tolmerus sp. Females are near to impossible to ID from a photograph unless you know exactly which species are present in the area.
Greetings,

Reinoud's experience is by far greater than mine - Machimus (or Tolmerus) is also a good option. I did not think of it because of the very dark femora, but that might be a matter of the light. I should better keep my mouth shut when Asilinae females are on the agenda...

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
