Good morning,

I need some guidance for this fly found on a rhododendron leaf a few days ago. I think it is a Muscidae and wonder if it could be Hydrotaea. It was about 6 mm long, remain motionless for a little while, but did not allow me to take more than one pic.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
