Hello, Northern Germany, Hamburg-Rissen, Wittenbergener Ufer, walking path along the river Elbe, at a flower of Tanacetum vulgare, 5th of September 2018, (Photos: kuv). Features that increase the chances Sarcs: * plumose arista * elongated, conical abdomen * checkered abdomen * strongly angular bend in vein M, with clear appendix * no discal bristles on tergites * several strong bristles at the lower part of the parafacial exceptions to all these rules of thumb occur ! Eye is ‘always’ bare in Sarcophagidae. Theo |
