You should transfer this thread in the Asilidae subsection to attract the experts! It is a female, so identification is tricky. As to leg colouration, it might be Tolmerus atricapillus, but there are similar species... Regards, Sundew |

Oh, there's a subforum for those too! Is there a way to actually transfer the thread, instead of deleting posts here and posting them again there? I cannot find such an option... Maybe a moderator can do this? Vlad Proklov http://evergestis.wordpress.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/evergestis/ |

He can; we can only delete our own posts, not the whole thread (in case there is already a reply). However, just post it again... |

Yeah, I just did it today with a Syrphid -- but that looks like littering the forum to me... So, moderator - could you please transfer this thread to the Asilidae subforum? Vlad Proklov http://evergestis.wordpress.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/evergestis/ |

Thanks! No chance to make it to species?

It is a female and I'm afraid that they are near to impossible to ID from a picture without an accompanying male.
