Good evening, Here is a Culicidae larva found in a pond in northern France this week: I think it is an Anopheles, but without any idea of the species. Can you help me to determine it, I do not have a document that allows it. thank you, Guénael. |

Some of the required detail is not visible in the photo, but the pattern of dark marks on the head is typical of the Anopheles maculipennis complex. Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to separate the species using morphological characters.
