Hello! Can more be said about this 3 mm fly from Sept-16 (Ostwestfalen/Germany) than just Sepsis sp.? Thanks in advance! I'd say Sepsis fulgens ? Tarsi very clear, spot located in apical wing, wing venation fits.. but not sure, though. |

If you take a look at the picture URL, you will see, that this was my assumption, too . That species seems to be very abundant here, but I was also not sure. I would not call 16 Spetember late autumn but late summer.

Chris can confirm that around 01 Sept it is always autumn in Russia In second part of Sept in Moscow reg. (as well as in second part of Oct in Sochi region) very few Sepsidae are still active at my observations: S.punctum, S.fulgens, N.nitidula... Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
