Hello again, I'm fairly sure this is Lucilia sp. But can someone give it a full ID? 3 pics: the 1st may be another fly! Best regards, Iolaire |

because of the way that M vein bents? it seems like muscid... again... fooled by a fly! (muscidae are the guilty... or it can be Anthom... or it can be Callipho...) |

because of the way that M vein bents no, mostly because of green-metallic shining frons and occiput. Also leg chaetotaxy not Lucilia's. again... fooled by a fly! I spend yesterday in attemps to ID Chrysomya from Thailand. Today I understood, that it is Neomyia (N.lauta) So, don't worry Jorge, you aren't the only person who was (and will) be foolished by fly Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Hi Nikita, You mentioned Neomyia lauta in your last reply. I'm afraid that this species doesn't seem to be indigenous in the Netherlands. I looked into the indigenous species of Neomyia in my country and only N. cornicina and N. viridescens are "Dutch" species. Can it be one of those perhaps? Another question: does "Neomyia" also aply for the fly in the first picture? Thanks! Best regards, Iolaire |
