Muscidae/Anthomyiidae I would have guessed, but if it is very small I'm not sure ...

No, Leucopis is a much more compact fly, without strong leg bristles - see

I had noticed the tip of the scutellum pointing upwards as one criterion for this little fly.

No, definitely not Leucopis.

I think Tony Irwin is on the right track: Anthomyiidae(?).
