Picture taken May 7th, 2003 in my garden, east of Deventer, the Netherlands.
I always considered this to be a S. stercoraria, but lately I noticed it has yellowish antennae.

Using Bal and seeing a well developed female, I concluded this is Scathophaga inquinata.
The scutellum is dark and not light as in S. lutaria.
The leg is plain brown.

What makes me wonder is whether this species is a hunter itself, or a scavenger.
I didn't find the answer on the internet.
It's a detail I want to include on my site.

Thank you in advance.
