Berlin - May 2018 - 2mm female

I cannot find an appropriate family. I thought Agromyzidae but the wing doesn't seem to match. The wing has similarities to several families but nothing exact. I could use a tip.

Thank you for your time.

wing - perhaps people are not able to flatten wings correctly. this wing resembles a few families but it doesn't really match exactly.

Fannia is a better match. Thank You Tony.

I am done for the day. I am very tired. I spent the day reading keys and dissecting. I typed notopleuron instead of mesopleuron for one of the images posted above. I have the word notopleuron stuck in my head from reading about Hilara maura. I will try to key this out tomorrow. I need sleep soon.

Thank You and i hope that you have a pleasant night.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
