It seems to me a larva of Stratiomyidae: is it possible to say more about it (genus, species)?

Thank you www.diptera.info/images/smiley/smile.gif www.diptera.info/images/smiley/cool.gif www.diptera.info/images/smiley/wink.gif

Stratiomys spec. for sure, but ID to species level from Italian specimens is impossible for me. If it was in The Netherlands I would say S. longicornis, but in Italy? No singularior, potamida or chamaeleon.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
