Hello ! This female was ovipositing in lettuce-flowers in the kitchengarden Aug.5 -2016. In the middle part of Sweden. Size 6 mm. Is it possible to tell genera or even species from this Pictures ? Botanophila .....maybe seneciella Mostly known from Jacobaea vulgaris, so I have a little doubt finding this species in Lactuca sativa....it could also be B. gnava. Always difficult with females.....they look all the same. Johanna Edited by javanerkelens on 14-02-2018 18:31 |

Thank you Johanna for giving me the right genera ! More than 50 Botanophila in the Swedish-list and after a look at their latin species-names, I can see many of them are found of Composite-flowers. Best Regards Patrik |
