Berlin - October - 7 mm female

Using Hennig, we arrive at Phaonia rufipalpis.
everything seems to fit P. rufipalpis but I haven't met all of the Phaonia genus.
A confirmation will be nice or even a "try again" message

Thank You for your Time.

I can't see the Phaonia bristle to confirm the genus, but if it is confirmed, then it can only be be P. rufipalpis.

Thank You, Stephane. I appreciate you very much. I'm sorry that I forgot to post the bristle. I am a bit tired today. I spent the day dissecting this and a Botanophila, then trying to key them with my Wife. My Wife did most of the keying on this one.

Anyway, here is a photo of the bristle. If we need a pic for the gallery, please let me know ...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
