Photographed on the same day and close to Linnaemya picta in https://diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=82417. Is this also Linnaemya picta? 14 August 2017, Delft, Zuid-Holland, NL Edited by johanvantbosch on 15-11-2017 15:15 Best wishes, Johan van 't Bosch Rotterdam, The Netherlands |

The picta-complex is pretty difficult. I need to study these pics ( well documented, by the way). Theo |

It looks like L. olsufjevi, which is a very rare species. Did you collect any ? Theo |

At that time there were quite some similar tachinids in that general area. I will have to remember next year to go back and collect some. I assume that it is better to leave the id as uncertain? Does this have any implications for the Linnaemya in my other topic (for which the photos are of lesser quality)? Or are you still certain of your id as L. picta for that one? https://diptera.i...d_id=82417 Best wishes, Johan van 't Bosch Rotterdam, The Netherlands |

If it wasn't such a rare species, I would not hesitate to call it olsufjevi. So, collecting material next year would be highly appreciated ! theo |

That teaches me that I should not let my photos wait until winter.... ;-) I will put an alert in my agenda for the same time next year. ;-) Best wishes, Johan van 't Bosch Rotterdam, The Netherlands |

Great, thanks ! Be sure to get males ... we can do females as well, but males are so much clearcut in Linnaemyia. Theo |
