Possibly S. europaea. Can someone ID this fly.

Thanks a lot Piluca_Alvarez!
The difference of the venation at the end of the wing (a little triangle)
is systematic between the male and female? Or intra-species variability?
On the second pict of Henrik that is missing.

STOMYLOMYIA Bigot, 1887 Probably S. tenella Loew, 1869
The venation is a small anomaly.

I disagree Smile I think it is S. europaea, as suggested by Piluca SmileSmileSmile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
