Hello, I found this insect in Fussen (Allgäu, Germany) on a rock face in July 2016. My guess is a species from the Machilidae family. Heiko Nier attached the following image: [260.43Kb] Best regards, Heiko http://www.tiersi... |

A beautiful member of the Machilidae indeed! Unfortunately, identification from a photo is impossible in most cases, also in this one. The specimens have to be carefully dissected, as the "Exkursionsfauna von Deutschland - Insekten" tells us. Regards, Sundew |

OK, I thought so, that it is not possible to determine this species on the photo. I also read the section in the "Excursion Fauna of Germany" later. Best regards, Heiko http://www.tiersi... |

Hello, With speckled eyes, antennae longer than body and habitus, I can identify the genus: Machilis. But this genus has about 100 species ... |
