Hello Arista and hairing wider than the postpedicel in the basal ½ - tigrina, or at least as wide as if you can get a close up in side view to see if the longest hair of the arista is => than the width of the postpedicel I would agree with tigrina Dr Elisabeth A. Harris @FloraConsUK |

Thanks for your interest Elisabeth and sorry for a late reply. Here is a better image of the antenna but I am not sure if it confirms C. tigrina or not /Leif K skrylten attached the following image: [184.85Kb] |

Hi For me its inconclusive.. What we need is someone who has access to C. tigrina, humilis male and female with side on shots to see the difference and possibly variation of the length of the aristal hairs in relation to the width of the postpedicel ! Dr Elisabeth A. Harris @FloraConsUK |

I think the species you mention can be separated by leg color. |

Hello Leg colours suggests tigrina but length of arista not conclusive, this may be neither humilis or tigrina, I only have info for the British species, never-the-less a paper showing the variatuion in the length of the aristal hairs and leg colour for this group would be useful. I can't go any further. Dr Elisabeth A. Harris @FloraConsUK |
