Loc.: Slovenia, water stream http://agrozoo.ne...8959bcb4c9 In general looks to me like enlarged Cloeon dipterum nymph. Edited by BubikolRamios on 05-05-2017 21:07 highly searchable nature photo galery --> http://agrozoo.ne....jsp?l2=en |

Neither of these are Cloeon, which are a cpmpletely different shape. These look much more like an Ecdyonurus species

I agree with Tony, it is not even a Baetidae but a Heptagenidae with some similar genera. It is no Rhithrogena or Epeorus but something else, like Ecdyonurus as suggested by Tony. It may also be genera like Electrogena, Hetagenia or Kageronia, but I cannot decide. You can check with the key made by Eiseler (2005) on german mayfly nymphs for instance: http://www.zoboda...1-0112.pdf |

It is Electrogena, based on the white cross on the femora and the absence of proturbances on the pronotum. It is impossible to say whether it is E. ujhelyi or E. lateralis based on photos from above. |
