What is this? I've never seen a mosquito with such unicoloured abdomen, ventrally. Confusing - I don't even get the genus.

This seems to be Aedes cinereus/geminus. Females are morphologically indistinguishable, and both species occur in Germany.

Ok, many thanks. Aedes spp. seem to be much more common than I thought.
