Yes, that is a Besseria. Imthinh it is zonaria, though, the other species without apical crossvein. The hairflurs on tergite 4 are pretty strong and the calypter is a bit big. Was it found lowland or high in the mountains ? Theo |

Thanks Theo. I doubted both and one more time I was wrong. It seemed to me that the width of the calypter was not half or less than width of the scutellum. Was found in a garden area in a village and ( although in front there is a mountain) the altitude there is about 400 m. Best regards, Luis |

That is lowland and that supports Besseria zonaria. Anthophila is never below 1000 m. to my knowledge and usually closer to 2000 m. But I am not 100 % sure, and currently I have no access to my collection. Theo |
