I photographed it at Villanua, Huesca, Aragon, Spain. in medium Pyrenees, about 900 meters high. Habitat: Fir (Abies alba) forest. Into the forest, in the shadow. The fly sizes about 6-7 mm long.

Your fly reminds me Achanthiptera rohrelliformis with this thorax dusting. Shock

Stephane.

Well, I found it Smile

http://www.diptera.info/photogallery.php?photo_id=1836

Really looks very similar, but in the gallery's picture, the thorax have silver marks as a continueation of the silver marks of the head, between the eyes...

More opinions?

Thanks Wink

And, looking the post called "So pretty"... It can't be a newly-emerged Mydaea?

Don't worry Isidro, your pretty fly is more pretty and much more rare - it is really Achanthiptera rohrelliformis!
