Inspired by all those weird Acrocerids I though to have found one myself - but alas, it's not even a fly I guess, but a Nematocera. Can anyone tell which family, or even perhaphs the genus/species? Amstelveen, the Netherlands. Herbaceous grassland just near side walk. It seemed to love the Wild Carrot, to which it flew every time I disturbed it. Quiet flight, appearing whitish then. Small: 3 - 4 mm. Not very active actually; I managed to make these photo's despite too much wind. Cor Zonneveld attached the following image: [136.11Kb] Thanks for your attention Cor Zonneveld |
