Hello! Is this 4 mm fly from yesterday on Tanacetum vulgare (Ostwestfalen/Germany) a Lonchaeid? If so, I think further identification is impossible (?). yes! A lonchaeid. Perhaps Lonchaea sp. Here they are rather common. Usually we can find them in swarming. |

They are not rare here, too, but I have always only seen them as single individuals in the lower vegetation. yes! We can find them resting in long periods of time on stems. |
