Diptera resting on a butterfly. ID please.

Hello. Please excuse my ignorance but what is this resting on a Green Hairstreak butterfly. Is it a small Diptera species or an small black ichneumon wasp species. The image was taken in England on Salisbury Plain, biotope chalk grassland. Edited by nomad on 18-05-2016 13:14 |

It's a black fungus gnat (Sciaridae) - tricky from specimens, usually impossible to identify from photos.
