Hi, I found this Eristalis male on what I believe to be a blackthorn shrub near a football field today. The weather was warm (I estimate somewhere between 20 and 25 °C) and sunny with only a few clouds. There were several males exhibiting territorial behaviour, but only this one was kind enough to land. I wonder if it's possible to get a species mach from this image (sadly I only managed to take one image before he took of again)?
