Hello!

This fly visited a Daucus carota plant today (Ostwestfalen/Germany). At first I thought of some sort of Conopid, but on a closer look it turned out to be more likely a Tachinid. Length about 10 mm. In the gallery I found Lophosia fasciata with such antennae. Is this the one or are there more species? Thanks!

Yes, those triangular A3 segments are very distinctive - looks like Lophosia fasciata to me Smile

I think that it is unmistakably Lophosia fasciata. Grin

A male. The antenna is less extreme in the female.
