A very hairy little fly with the looks of Lonchaeidae, but the wings don't seem to fit. Angry

André, that is a Syrphid Wink My bet is on a male Psilota anthracina. However, not my area of expertise Wink Better wait for more opinions...

So, Wednesday, instead of 2 new genera of Syrphidae, I have 3. And just in a couple of minutes, and on the same flower. Smile

Yes, that is a male Psilota.
Recently, several new species have been described (see Smit & Zeegers and Smit & Vujic), so it will be very challenging to get an ID on this male. Get Psilota in the title and wait for John Smit (or send him an email !).
