I saw this fly in Amstelveen, Holland, near a rail track, a bit sandy with lots of flowers. It visits Wild Carrot (Daucus carota) on the photograph. First I thought some worn Lucillia, but then I notices it to be quite different. Size 8 - 10 mm. I'm quite unsure, but might it be a Tachinid? And can it be IDed?

this photograph shows much better the metal coloration. The wing was apparently disabled.

I think Cor, your first impression was correct, Calliphoridae. Just not Lucilia, but Bellardia. Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
