Hi,
Can anyone confirm that the fly pictured is an Otitidae - Melieria species?

Dear Nigel,

It is indeed a Melieria: M. crassipennis. The family however has been degraded to a subfamily of the Ulidiidae.

Best wishes,

John

Thanks John. I had wondered if it was crassipennis, as it looked similar to other photographs of this fly.
