I'm pretty sure that I have posted a thread about these craneflies earlier, however I cannot find the thread when I search for it. So, I post it again hereSmile

I knew it could be found somewhere. Grin
I had missed that one could search for author.

The pictures in the first thread were very cropped so I erase that thread.

Erasing of the thread was no good idea, as you can only remove your own parts, not the replies by other people. Now the old thread remains a useless stub, unless you can convince Clovis to erase his reply, too awkward.
As to your Tipula: have a look at Pjotr Oosterbroek's Catalogue of the Craneflies http://ccw.natura... and search for "Tipula" and "Sweden" - you can compare all the members of subgenus Yamatotipula there. May be, it helps.

Oops...
I hope Clovis will see this and erase his reply.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
