That's possible indeed! I've seen Phyllonorycter nicellii / froelichiella in the same hedge, so it wouldn't be unlikely. Thanks for the good hint! |

You're right, there are no mines visible in my leaf, as opposed to the ones in lepiforum. So Tenthredinidae fits even better - thank you! According to Lorenz / Kraus there are several species feeding on Alnus, but unfortunately they didn't add any pictures |

I see no problem that you don't see any mine there. "Mines" can start there life and die at any time within process for whatever reason. If I would speculate I wold say we see feeding damage of caterpillar which later/before creates tent (lepiforum), but that is speculation.
