Collected 30 May 2014 in a saltmarsh in Rilland, the Netherlands. About 4 mm. I come to Muscidae, Coenosiinae. Can it be Coenosia with these presutural dc? Any help is appreciated.

Yes, it is Coenosia subgenus Dexiopsis (2 prst dc, the 1st one at most one third as long as the second, and flagellomere yellow basally - hope you can confirm this point).
I suspect Coenosia (Dexiopsis) karli which is described as an halobiontic and coastal species. The other possibility is Coenosia ruficornis.

Hi Stephane, maybe I can send this specimen to you for confirmation?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
