Hello!

This is a fly I often meet in the wild grass in my garden.
On the insecte.org forum it has been identifed as Sapromyza sp. but I have been invited to ask Diptera.info for confirmation.

So could someone confirm or help going further?

The fly is about 4 or 5 mm long.
This one has been met on July 27th, 2005 in Puchay (Normandy), France.
I usually see this fly from mid-spring to summer. Not sure it is always the same specie but I see no difference, and always those dots on the abdomen.
It does not fly a lot. It rather walks on the grass going forth and back, when not still.

Here are wings, if it helps (same place +/- 10 metres, same day, another specimen).

I also met this one, more hairy and I wonder wether it is the same specie/genera?

I regularly meet other flies without the spots (at least less visible on my photos, but perhaps an angle and/or point of focus cause? or because abdomen is smaller and spots are hidden under other segments?) and with a more narrow abdomen (sharper at the end). Male/female difference?

Thank you for your answers!
